The Monaco Ecobridge project is a proposal for an artificial breakwater and environmental sanctuary connecting Fort Antoine to the Grimaldi Forum, effectively tripling the size of the existing port.  The breakwater is proposed to be a combination of construction types, due to the depth of the Mediterranean Sea at this location; underwater superstructures and pontoons (VLFS) is proposed to support the ecosystem and landscaping above.  An inner ring promenade is proposed flanked by a terraced seaside garden.  Running the centerline of the islands is a two-way tram system connecting both landfalls.  The overall crescent shape of the breakwater, coupled with its navigable openings would serve to create a new touristic icon for the Principality.
