The Tidal Basin Road Project is located at the western gateway entrance to the Royal Victoria Docks and is seen as a major regeneration project for the area.
The project is comprised of two, 27 storey residential towers with 600 private and affordable units, situated upon a curvilinear podium with program including; building lobbies, support, retail and community facilities. The island nature of the site serves to be the inspiration behind the placement and geometry of the towers; the site informing the curved nature of the buildings. Placement and alignment are optimised to provide sweeping panoramic views of the Thames River and Canary wharf.
The exterior wall of the buildings is designed as a faceted, modular system with shadow box spandrel panels and vision glass. Exterior terraces are provided for each unit, staggered across the façade and inset, creating a dynamic three dimensional quality while maintaining a crisp and fluid exterior appearance.
